Frequently asked questions
- How does Appraise Me work?
- Appraise Me makes selling your vehicle simple. Start by filling out our quick online form and booking a free appraisal. We come to your driveway, capture your vehicle’s condition, photos, and information, then present it to our network of dealers. Dealers compete for your vehicle, and we bring you the highest offer. You decide whether you want to accept it.
- Is Appraise Me free to use?
- Yes. Appraise Me is completely free for vehicle owners. There are no appraisal fees, listing fees, commissions, or hidden charges.
- Am I obligated to accept the offer?
- No. There is absolutely no obligation to accept the offer you receive. Once we present you with the highest offer, the decision is completely yours.
- How is Appraise Me different from selling to a dealership?
- When you take your vehicle to one dealership, you receive an offer from one buyer. Appraise Me puts your vehicle in front of our dealer network, allowing multiple dealers to compete for it so we can bring you the highest offer.
- How is Appraise Me different from selling privately?
- Selling privately means creating listings, answering messages, negotiating with buyers, dealing with no-shows, arranging test drives, and handling the transaction yourself. Appraise Me handles the selling process for you without requiring you to list your vehicle publicly or deal with private buyers.
- Do I have to bring my vehicle anywhere?
- No. We come to you. An Appraise Me representative will meet you at your driveway or another agreed-upon location to capture the vehicle.
- How long does the appraisal take?
- The in-person appraisal is designed to be quick and convenient. We capture the photos, condition, mileage, options, and other information our dealers need to properly evaluate your vehicle.
- How long does it take to receive an offer?
- It really depends. It could take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours. We’ll give you a call as soon as we receive the highest offer.
- How do you determine what my vehicle is worth?
- Instead of relying on a single appraisal, we present your vehicle to our dealer network. Dealers evaluate the vehicle based on its condition, mileage, history, specifications, and current market demand and submit their offers. We then bring you the highest offer.
- What types of vehicles can Appraise Me sell?
- Appraise Me is able to sell almost all vehicles. There may be certain cases where we’re unable to sell a vehicle due to its condition or certain makes and models.
- Does my vehicle need to be in perfect condition?
- No. Your vehicle does not need to be in perfect condition. Just be transparent about its condition and let us know about any known damage, mechanical issues, or other problems during the appraisal process.
- What happens after I accept an offer?
- Once you accept an offer, Appraise Me coordinates the next steps with the purchasing dealer, including the final inspection, paperwork, payment, and vehicle pickup.
- How do I get paid?
- Payment is made by bank draft as part of the completed vehicle transaction.
- Who actually buys my vehicle?
- Your vehicle is purchased by the dealer that submitted the winning offer through the Appraise Me dealer network. Appraise Me facilitates the process between you and the purchasing dealer.
- Can the offer change after I accept it?
- The offer would only change if an issue with the vehicle was not disclosed or the condition of the vehicle was not accurately represented during the appraisal.
- Does my vehicle need to pass an inspection?
- Yes. The purchasing dealer will complete a final inspection to confirm that the vehicle matches the condition and information provided during the appraisal.
- Do I have to negotiate with dealerships?
- No. You don’t have to call dealerships, visit multiple locations, or negotiate with individual dealers. Appraise Me handles the dealer side of the process and brings you the highest offer we receive.
- Is my vehicle listed publicly?
- No. Your vehicle is presented directly to dealers within the Appraise Me network. You don’t have to create a public marketplace listing or advertise the vehicle yourself.
- Is my personal information shared with dealers?
- No. Your personal information is not shared with dealers during the appraisal and bidding process.
- How does Appraise Me make money if the service is free?
- Appraise Me does not charge you to sell your vehicle. Our fee is paid by the dealer that purchases the vehicle, allowing you to use the service without paying appraisal fees, commissions, or seller fees.
